Wexford Pride AGM 2025
Wexford Pride’s Annual General Meeting will take place virtually from 7pm on Wednesday 26th November 2025.
The Annual General Meeting is an important space for community members to come together to reflect on the past year, elect the 2025/26 committee and contribute to creating meaningful change in shaping the future direction of Wexford Pride.
We are a voluntary organisation that believes in the power of building community from the bottom up! By coming together collectively, we can continue to create spaces that foster relationships founded in solidarity, collectivity, and care as we work to celebrate, empower and uplift all corners of our diverse community This is your community and your voice, participation and presence matter in shaping it!
The AGM will take place via Google Meet, the meeting link will be made available through the sign-up link below or by contacting info@wexfordpride.ie.
Wexford Pride has continued to grow from a small community picnic to a community-led organisation powered by and for LGBTQIA+ people in Co.Wexford. Wexford Pride now hosts over 100+ events throughout the year including - online and in-person peer support groups, community groups (Art Club, Board Game Night, Queer Chorus, Tea On The Quay), Aiteach (our community zine!) and annual events brought together through our community including Pride in The Park, our Annual Symposium, Culture Night and LGBTQIA+ Community Retreat.
We are committed to ensuring our events and spaces are inclusive, safe and accessible to all corners of our community including those who are neurodivergent, disabled or members of the BIPOC, Traveller or Roma communities. We are conscious that many LGBTQIA+ spaces are not accessible to or representative of those most marginalized within our community due to ignorance, prejudice, internalized -phobias or racism.
Wexford Pride is continuously working to challenge, deconstruct and learn to better inform our spaces and ensure they are reflective of the diversity within our community and that includes encouraging and supporting members from these groups to be represented and included in our decision-making, organising and committee structures.

Committee Roles & Responsibilities
All Committee positions are voluntary roles elected by the community. All committee members are expected to commit to attending a monthly committee meeting in addition to volunteering 2-3 hours of their time each month. Committee members hold a leadership role within our community, with this comes a level of responsibility to uphold the principles and values that underpin Wexford Pride in their actions, maintaining a duty of care and accountability toward our community.
At certain times of the year (such as up in the lead-up to Pride), committee meetings may be called on a more frequent basis. Similarly, depending on the time of year, ongoing projects or upcoming events may require more time from committee members; however, this is determined collaboratively among the committee.
-
The Secretary is responsible for the documentation of the activities of the committee and the communication of information within the committee. The Secretary should be a good communicator and maintain confidentiality on relevant matters. Among the Secretary’s tasks are to record, control and distribute minutes, and receive and disseminate correspondence to and from the committee. The Secretary is the Vice-Treasurer, i.e., takes the responsibilities of the Treasurer should the Treasurer be unavailable.
-
The Treasurer is responsible for managing the organisation’s finances. Their tasks include the preparation of annual budgets, planning for the organisation’s financial future, monitoring the organisation’s revenue and expenditure, documentation of the Committee’s spending, and approval of any spending over €50. Petty cash spending under €50 can be approved by any Committee member. The Treasurer should have a sufficient level of financial expertise to cover the responsibilities. The Treasurer will also be responsible for coordinating fundraising and sponsorship. The Treasurer must create and present the financial records at each AGM.
-
The Public Relations Officer is responsible for oversight of media engagements, including Committee member interviews by the media, press releases and promotional material releases to media partners and news outlets, the administration of Wexford Pride’s social media presence, the approval of any posting to Wexford Pride social media accounts, and management of the organisation’s website.
-
The Community Liaison is responsible for communication with other organisations, including but not limited to NGOs representing marginalised communities; clubs and organisations representing marginalised communities; youth clubs and organisations that support LGBTQIA+ youth; and other organisations supporting our aims and objectives. The Community Liaison is the Vice-PRO, i.e., takes the responsibilities of the PRO should the PRO be unavailable, and has deputised access to all social media accounts.
-
Up to three additional ‘Open Committee Members’ can be elected, these non-titled positions are full Committee members and require the same level of commitment as any other position. As they do not have a title, their role is flexible: they can be responsible for certain projects, they can propose and vote on motions, they can take on tasks for the titled members, and they can represent the Committee. However, they cannot withdraw money from the Wexford Pride Credit Union account or make changes to the Constitution.
