Wexford Pride Coming Out Day Symposium 2026

Wexford Pride's 3rd Annual Symposium returns this year to St. Joseph’s Community Centre from 10 am - 4pm on Sunday 11th October. This year we are trying something different with a themed symposium. October 11th is International Coming Out Day. In light of this we want to invite the community to us ‘coming out’ as a loose theme for the presentations at this year’s symposium. Feel free to tell us about your coming out, a time someone else came out to you, or feel free to deconstruct the concept of coming out altogether. Is it still useful as a concept? Are we post-coming out? When you hear ‘coming out’ what do you think of? Sexuality, gender, or something else? Feel free to take the theme and run with it.

As always, the symposium is an important fundraising event for Wexford Pride, enabling us to keep the tickets and costs of our large annual event affordable. This year the event we are raising money for is the Halloween Ball on Halloween night.

Highmeadows Community Hub is a wheelchair-accessible venue. The structure of the day allows for attendees to come and go as they wish, we do ask however to show respect to those presenting to leave/enter between each presentation. Where attendees need to leave during a presentation, please do so quietly. There will be short breaks between presentations for attendees to move, use the bathroom or grab something to eat.

Photography & Video

There will be photos taken on the day for the purposes of capturing the event for promotional and archival purposes. If you do not wish to be included in photographs please make it known to a member of the committee on the day (visble by rainbow lanyards).
