Now in its sixth year, Pride Inside is returning to the Wexford Arts Centre from 12 PM - 6 PM. Organised by Wexford Pride, the event is an annual vibrant celebration that brings together the LGBTQIA+ community and our allies in a celebration of community, solidarity, and queer joy!
With just under two weeks to go until the event day, we thought we would provide you with an update on how things are going!
Performers
All of our performers are getting ready for the big day! The free, family-friendly neuroinclusive event will showcase a diverse lineup of LGBTQIA+ musicians and acts with performances from both emerging and established local talent including - 12 Gauge Outrage, Bloco Garman, Ovalords, Mz red deer, Andrei Boyd, Lili Dobbs, Aisling De Barra, Mark and Luke, the Wexford Pride Singing group and Haus of Goofy!
Community Groups
We will have a number of community groups joining us on the day, including Neuro Pride Ireland who are supporting us in facilitating our Quiet Space which will be situated at the back of the Arts Centre, away from the main stage and vendor area.
CATU South Wicklow-Wexford will be joining us as well, they are a trusted, grassroots organisation with sister branches throughout Ireland fighting for our housing rights. Working from the principle of ‘nothing about us with us’ Wexford D.P.O (Disabled Persons Organisation) collectively advocates for a more inclusive society where the voices of disabled people in Wexford are at the heart of the decisions that affect our lives. Pride At Work Ireland is a not for profit organisation dedicated to supporting the full inclusion of LGBTIQ+ people within the workplace, business and professions. Trans Healthcare Action is a grassroots group of trans and gender diverse people working together to ensure that every person in Ireland can access the healthcare and resources they need to express their gender identity.
Vendors
On the day attendees can explore an array of LGBTQIA+ and allied community vendors! From baked treats to handmade creations, and everything in between there will be something for everybody. With more to be announced.
Quiet Space in collaboration with NeuroPride Ireland
Need a sensory break during Pride? The Neuro Pride co-ordinators Gillian & Nem will be manning the Neuro-affirmative space. So if you would like a space to take a break, chill and connect with your neuro-clann come and find us.
The space will be open to any and all who would like a safe space to chill while still being part of the festivities, whether ND or allies. Please note it will be an outside space with cover available.
We particularly want to extend a warm welcome to Neurodivergent folks, people who think they might be Neurodivergent, and their families/support people. No diagnosis needed.
For your comfort, there will have beanbags, ear defenders, art supplies and fidget toys available to borrow.
Feel free to arrive, leave, take a break at any time! You do not need to use mouth words to communicate with us. Bring along comfort or accessibility items
Name stickers will be available using the traffic light system:
🟩 Green = I am happy to talk
🟨 Yellow = I prefer to initiate conversation
🟥 Red = I prefer not to interact
🟤 You are invited but not obligated to write your name and/or pronouns on the stickers
Please note: We will be situated away from main vendor/stage area however this is a festival with performances, so some noise is inevitable. But we hope you will enjoy spending some time with us and leave our 'quiet-er zone' recharged and refreshed.
To finish the day’s celebrations the Wexford Pride Inside After-Party will be hosted by Wexford Arts Centre, with festivities led by Poppy DeScrace and The Disgraceful Cabaret (18+)
